She received her PhD in plant molecular biology from the University of California, Berkeley and continued her research at the Rockefeller University and the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratories. Kaz continued to study pharmacology and molecular genetics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as an Advanced Study Fellow, and nutrition at Rutgers University. Having researched genetics and biochemistry for over 20 years, she understands the critical effects of nutrition and physical activities on your well-being. Kaz integrates her profession with her passion for personal fitness and wellness.
She is certified as a Health Fitness Specialist by ACSM (American College of Sport Medicine) and as an Advanced Health and Fitness Specialist (Gold status since 2003) from the American Council of Exercise (ACE), allowing her to work with clients with diagnosed illness such as diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, etc, working with medical doctors, in addition to being a certified Personal Trainer, and Life Style & Weight Management Coach by ACE as well as in Health & Exercise: Fitness Intervention from the University of California, Berkeley. She is recognized as an Elite Personal Trainer by IDEA Health and Fitness Association and gives presentation at national conferences. Her areas of expertise include clinical exercise, older adults, pre and post natal women and running. Kaz teaches national personal trainer certification courses at Mercer Community College and taught the biochemistry of exercise at Rutgers University for several years.
She is a certified Nutrition Educational Trainer by Dr. Fuhrman Nutritional Education Institute and continuing her study toward the registered dietitian degree. Kaz works full-time for a company, helping develop new medicines to fulfill the unmet needs of patients. Even though this job requires frequent business trips, she still exercises and eats a healthy diet. She will help you to see that you DO have time to exercise!
